STANFORD earned its sixth-straight No. 1 national ranking this week. With that, the Cardinal put its rating to the test hosting No. 2/2 Connecticut on Saturday, Dec. 29 at Maples Pavilion on ESPNU. In addition to the top ranking, Stanford also puts its 82-game winning streal on the line when the Huskies come to town. The last time the Cardinal lost at home was in Nov. 2007 ... Four Pac-12 teams continue to be ranked with the Cardinal taking the lead. CALIFORNIA is No. 8/8, UCLA is 17/18 and COLORADO is ranked 23rd in the Associated Press poll ... It is the final week of non-conference play and teams are getting in their final tune-ups before the calendar year changes over to 2013 ... After leading Stanford to only its second-ever win in Knoxville, Chiney Ogwumike was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week for the second-straight week. WASHINGTON STATE’s Lia Galdeira was selected the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after leading her team in a two-game east coast swing ... Pac-12 teams have defeated nine ranked opponents this season and have posted a 56.3 winning percentage against teams in the top 25.
