WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – In a Utah sweep of the Conference diver of the month awards, junior Caleb Herrick and sophomore Kersten Merry were named Pac-12 Divers of the Month for December, the Conference office announced Tuesday.
Herrick helped the Utes to a pair of dual meet victories over BYU and Arizona State in December. He opened the month by winning the 1-meter event against BYU, posting a score of 343.12, and followed it up with a second-place finish in the 1-meter event against ASU with a score of 288.98.
Merry won three of four events in which she competed in December. She won the 1-meter (304.95) event and finished fourth in the 3-meter (263.32) event against BYU and added victories in the 1-meter (301.05) and 3-meter events (274.50) against Arizona State.
Merry and Herrick are the first Utes to be named Pac-12 Divers of the Month. Utah joined the Pac-12 Conference in 2011.
