WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Arizona State senior Harrison Jones and UCLA sophomore Emma Ivory-Ganja have been named Pac-12 Divers of the Month for November.
Jones, who transferred into the ASU program this season, won all six events in which he competed in November. He opened the month by winning the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events against Cal State Bakersfield, and followed up with a pair of victories in the 1-meter and three-meter events against USC. He capped his month with a standout performance at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., where he placed first in the 3-meter event with a score of 452.60—narrowly missing the school record (455.40) set in 2009. He also took home top honors in the 1-meter finals with a score of 413.40.
Ivory-Ganja won four events in November. At the Trojan Diving Invitational, she won the 3-meter event with a score of 309.50, a day after earning the top finish in the 1-meter preliminary. The following week, she won a trio of events, helping the Bruins to victories over Arizona State and ninth-ranked Arizona. Against the Sun Devils, she placed first in the 1-meter (296.45) and 3-meter (324.00). She added a first-place finish in the 1-meter (289.13) and a second-place finish in the 3-meter (299.40) against the Wildcats as UCLA defeated Arizona in a dual meet for the first time since 2000.
This is Jones’ fourth career Diver of the Month award and the 12th for Arizona State. For Ivory-Ganja, it is her second monthly honor and UCLA’s 9th all time.
