Pac-10 Player of the Week

Washington junior defenseman Bryn Ritchie has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for October 3-9.

Ritchie, from Medford, Ore., played a key role in leading No. 12 Washington to a sweep of the Bay Area schools. In the Huskies 2-1 overtime win over then-No. 4 Stanford, Ritchie tallied an assist on the first goal, then came through again by scoring the game-winner in overtime. Against California, he had one shot on goal and was part of the Huskies stifling defense, which shut out the Bears 7-0.

This is the first weekly honor for Ritchie and Washington's first Player of the Week honor all-time.

ALSO NOMINATED: Johanes Maliza, STAN, DJ Countess, UCLA.
