Casey Jacobsen To Chat On ESPN.com Friday

Oct. 12, 2000

STANFORD, Calif. - On Friday, as part of ESPN.com's Midnight Madness and their college basketball preseason kickoff, players (and one coach) from several of the top programs around the country will visit ESPN.com for an audio chat. Among the prestigous group assembled is Stanford sophomore guard/forward Casey Jacobsen.

Jacobsen enters the 2000-2001 season as both a John Wooden Pre-Season All-America candidate and a Naismith Player of the Year candidate. Jacobsen made an immediate impact with the Stanford men's basketball program last season, becoming the first freshman since Todd Lichti (1985-86) to lead the team in scoring. Jacobsen averaged 14.5 ppg while shooting 43 percent from three-point range. His efforts garnered him Pac-10 Co-Freshman of the Year and The Sporting News Freshman of the Year honors.
