David Martin Drops Consolation Quarterfinal Match In ITA All-American Championships

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Stanford sophomore David Martin (Key Biscayne, FL/Boca Raton Prep) lost a quarterfinals consolation match Saturday morning in the ITA All-American Singles Championships.
Fourth-seeded and sixth-ranked Esteban Carrill of TCU defeated the 74th-ranked Martin 6-3, 6-3. Carrill won his semifinal match to advance to the consolation finals, where he fell to Georgia's Matias Boeker.
Martin reached the quarterfinals of the second leg of the ITA Grand Slam with a convincing 6-2, 6-4 win over Graydon Oliver of Illinois. Martin was a quarterfinalist at the ITA Clay Court Championships (first leg of the ITA Grand Slam) in September.
The Cardinal is next in action Oct. 28, competing in the ITA Indoor Qualifying at Berkeley, Calif.
