UCLA Places Fourth At Michigan Interregional Men's Cross Country Meet

LOS ANGELES--Eric Peterson's UCLA men's cross country team Sunday placed fourth at theMichigan Interregional, held in Ann Arbor, MI. Bruin junior Bryan Green pacedUCLA by placing ninth on the 8000m course. The race was held on the Universityof Michigan campus.
UCLA placed fourth (out of 12 teams) with 115 points. Rounding out the TopFive squads were ' first-place Texas (77 points), second-place St. Francis (91),third-place Washington (94, ranked No. 20 in the U. S.), fourth-place UCLA andfifth-place Michigan (121, ranked No. 24 in the U. S.).
The men's winner was Michigan junior Mark Pilja, with a time of 24:42.
Green, from Palmdale, has led the Bruins this season, placing in the Top 10in all five invitationals. His ninth-place time in Ann Arbor was 25:24.
Looking ahead, the UCLA men and women (the Bruin women trained through theweekend and did not compete in an invitational) may compete next Saturday (Oct.20) at the Titan Invite in Fullerton. After that, UCLA's two most importantmeets of the season are upcoming ' Oct. 28 at the Pacific-10 Championships inSeattle, WA and Nov. 11 at the NCAA Western Region Qualifying in Fresno.
