Oregon State Makes Available An Opportunity To Watch UCLA Game
Oct. 19, 2000
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State Athletic Department announced Thursday an opportunity for a limited number of Beaver fans and OSU students to watch Saturday's Oregon State-UCLA football game.
OSU will be taking feeds via Direct TV and showing the game on the third floor in the Valley Football Center, which will have a capacity of 400 seats. The 400 seats are limited to OSU football season ticket holders.
In addition to the Valley Football Center, Oregon State students will have an opportunity to watch the game in the Memorial Union.
The Valley Football Center venue will require tickets for admission. There is no cost for the tickets. For viewing in the Valley Football Center, fans must be a current OSU football season ticket holder. Those fans are eligible for a maximum of two tickets based on their account name in the OSU Athletic Ticket Office system. Tickets will be available on a first come, first serve basis while the supply lasts on Friday, October 20, at 12 noon, at the Gill Coliseum Ticket Office. Valley Football Center will be open at 3:00 p.m. for seating on Saturday. Concessions will be available for purchase.
For OSU student viewing in the Memorial Union, seating will be available at 3:00 p.m.
'It is certainly an exciting time for Beaver fans and we would like to extend the opportunity, as it is available, for our fans to watch the game together,' said Mitch Barnhart, director of athletics.
Athletic officials had considered other venues for the event, namely Reser Stadium and Gill Coliseum. However, because of prior commitments to the high school marching band championships and the OSU volleyball game against UC Riverside, the Valley Football Center was deemed the best venue available.
