Women's Tennis Advances In Riviera All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Lauren Kalvaria (Indialantic, FL) and Keiko Tokuda (Clifton, NJ) each picked up first round wins on Thursday in the Riviera Women's All-American Tennis Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club.
The Riviera is the second leg of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Grand Slam. Kalvaria defeated Katarina Markovski of South Carolina 6-3, 6-4 in first round singles action. Tokuda had a 6-4, 6-2 win over Virginia Commonwealth's Martina Nedelkova.
In doubles play, Kalvaria and Gabriela Lastra (Reno, NV) had a 6-3, 6-0 first round win over Ashleigh Dolman and Maria Galoustova of Oklahoma State. The team advances to Friday's quarterfinals, where it will face Duke's Amanda Johnson and Megan Miller.
Second round singles action continues Friday with Kalvaria taking on Megan Miller of Duke, while Tokuda faces Kristy Dascoli of Ohio State.
