STANFORD, Calif. -- The Oregon women's golf team struggled for the second consecutive day, shooting a 33-over par 321 to fall to last place at the second round of the 18-team Stanford/Pepsi Intercollegiate, Saturday at the 6,154-yard, par-72 Stanford Golf Course on the Cardinal's campus.
The Ducks have a two-round total of 635 and are seven strokes behind 17th-place Washington State and eight shots behind Washington and Texas Tech. No. 1 Arizona retained its first round lead by shooting a 293 for a 570 two-day total. No. 5 Stanford and No. 3 USC were tied for second, 12 strokes back, while No. 12 New Mexico State and No. 10 Pepperdine shared fourth, 25 shots off the pace. Other Pac-10 teams included No. 15 Arizona State in seventh at 607, Oregon State in 12th at 623 and California 13th at 625.
Senior Claire Hunter shot an 8-over 80, but remains Oregon's top golfer, tied for 52nd with a 156 composite. Senior Jerilyn White rebounded from an opening round 84 to shoot a team-best 74 Saturday and is tied for 57th at 158.
The final round of the three-round tournament will be played Sunday morning.
