Women's Golfers Place Eighth at Stanford/Pepsi Invitational

The UCLA women's golf team placed eighth at the Stanford/Pepsi Invitational and freshman Gina Umeck tied for 15th place individually.
The Bruins posted a team score of 918, 54-over par, and finished four shots behind seventh place Arizona State. Top-ranked Arizona won the title at 873, nine-over par, followed by third-ranked USC at 879 and second ranked Stanford at 886.
Umeck, an AJGA Honorable Mention All-American, recorded her third straight top 25 finish this season by posting rounds of 74-76-74--224. She has been the Bruins top finisher in all three of their tournaments this season. Senior Laura Moffat tied for 27th at 228, junior Alicia Um tied for 48th at 233 and freshman Saki Uechi tied for 54th at 235. Freshman Krystal Shearer tied for 81st at 244.
Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh won the individual title with scores of 72-68-70--210, six-under par, followed by Arizona's Lorena Ochoa at 213 and USC's Leslie Chartrand at 214.
