Rowing Finishes Among Leaders at Head of the Charles

BOSTON, Mass. - The USC women's rowing finished among the leaders in Boston at the Head of the Charles on Sunday (Oct. 22). The varsity eight boat placed seventh out of 57 boats in the women's Championship Eight race with a time of 17:04.28, while the varsity four finished with time of 19:47.26, good for 11th place overall in the 23-boat field.
Among collegiate teams, the Trojans finished fifth behind Princeton (1st), Michigan (4th), Syracuse (5th) and Yale (6th). With the fastest overall time, Princeton finished the race in 16:37.52. Two club teams finished second and third.
In the varsity four race, Rowing Canada took top honors, finishing in 18:32.31. Princeton was the top collegiate team and finished fifth overall with a time of 19:19.63. USC finished 11th overall and fourth collegiately behind the Tigers (5th), Michigan (6th) and Iowa (10th).
The Trojans finish the fall season at the Newport Autumn Festival in Newport Beach, Calif. on Sunday (Nov. 12).
