OSU Student Ticket Plan For Civil War Announced
Oct. 25, 2000
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State Athletic Department announced plans Wednesday for a modification of the current student distribution system of football tickets for the Civil War game with Oregon on November 18.
'Every year there is much emotion surrounding the Civil War game,' said Director of Athletics Mitch Barnhart. 'Given what could be riding on this year's game only heightens the interest and the demand for tickets. Therefore we are announcing a plan today that we hope will lead to a safe and equitable distribution of tickets for our students.'
During the week, starting Monday, October 30 and through Friday, November 3, students can come by Gill Coliseum to pick up a numbered voucher (NOT A TICKET) that would give them a chance for Civil War tickets. It should be noted that there is no advantage to coming early on Monday to get a voucher.
On Monday, November 6 the athletic department, through its website, www.osubeavers.com, The Barometer and The Gazette-Times, would announce the range of number vouchers that are eligible for Civil War tickets. Starting Monday, November 6 at 12:00 noon, and through the week up until the close of business on Friday, November 10 students with the appropriate numbered vouchers can pick up their tickets. All seats are reserved so if students would like to sit with a group, students are encouraged to pick up tickets as a group.
Any tickets not picked up by the end of the day on Friday, November 10 will go back into the supply. On Monday, November 13 the athletic department will announce how many tickets are left and which voucher numbers are eligible for tickets. Those students with the appropriate voucher numbers can pick up their tickets starting on Monday, Nov. 13 at 12:00 noon through the close of business on Wednesday, Nov. 15. If any tickets remain after Wednesday, any student starting Thursday, Nov. 16 at 8:30 a.m can pick them up.
As always, all students must have a proper validated student ID and must present that ID to receive a voucher. All students must also present their ID and voucher to pick up a ticket. Los vouchers or lost tickets will not be replaced.
All pick up of vouchers and tickets will take place at the front entrance of Gill Coliseum Box Office on 26th St. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All student tickets for the Civil War game are for reserved seating. There is no general admission seating.
