2000-01 Men's Basketball Television Schedule Announced
Oct. 25, 2000
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The 2000-01 Pacific-10 Conference basketball television package features 55 regular-season men's contests telecast to national and regional audiences, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
The Pac-10 men's basketball package, one of the most extensive among all Conferences nationwide, includes 35 games nationally and regionally on FOX Sports Net, six nationally or regionally on ABC/Raycom, eight nationally on CBS, four nationally on ESPN and two nationally on ESPN2 (with the possibility of five additional national ESPN/ESPN2 telecasts from in-season tournaments) .
Additional regional and local men's telecasts will be arranged and announced by the institutions. Many of these telecasts arranged by the institutions will be aired on one of several FOX Sports Net regionals in the Pac-10 market (FOX Sports Net Northwest, FOX Sports Net Bay Area, FOX Sports Net West, FOX Sports Net West 2 and FOX Sports Net ARIZONA).
'Pac-10 members play challenging non-Conference schedules against highly rated teams. Combined with the attractive intra-Conference games on the schedule, those games will offer television viewers entertaining college basketball contests throughout the coming season,' Hansen said. 'Pac-10 basketball will receive excellent coverage, and the fans will benefit as a result.'
The Pac-10's television exposure tips off for the men on Thursday, November 9, when UCLA meets Kansas in a Coaches vs. Cancer matchup on ESPN2.
