Soccer Ties Minnesota 1-1

Oct. 29, 2000

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State women's soccer team (12-5-1, 3-4 Pac-10) played to a 1-1 tie with Minnesota (8-9-1) today at the Sun Devil Soccer Stadium.

Arizona State tallied the first goal in the 62nd minute when a defensive bobble on the top of the box let freshman Patrice Feulner net the shot pass Minnesota's goalkeeper.

It looked like ASU had the game won, but at the 88:27 mark Minnesota's Meghan Jones took a free kick that went towards the box as Laurie Seidl headed into the net to tie the game.

Both teams didn't score in the two overtimes, despite each team making several rushes on goal.

In a penalty filled game -- Arizona State posted 18 fouls to Minnesota's 20 -- the Sun Devils recorded 17 shots to Minnesota 16. Each goalkeeper made 10 saves.

Up next, Arizona State closes out its regular season with home games against UCLA on Friday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. and USC on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
