Schott Leads the Nation in Goals Per Game

BERKELEY - California sophomore forward Laura Schott leads the nation with a 1.22 goals per game average through games played Oct. 29. Schott has been among the nation's leaders in this category all season, but this is the first week she sits atop the leader board.
Schott owns Pac-10 bests for points (45) and goals (22). Her 2.50 points per game average ranks fifth in the country.
Cal senior goalkeeper Maite Zabala also ranks 11th among the NCAA Division I leaders for goals-against average at 0.62.
The Bears are 15-2-1, 5-2 in Pac-10 play and wrap up the regular season this week at home against Oregon State Friday at 3 p.m., and Sunday against Oregon at 12:30 p.m. Both games take place at Edwards Stadium. The 48-team NCAA College Cup field will be announced Sunday evening.
