Nov. 3, 2000
TUCSON, Ariz. - Senior Isabelle Harvey (Cap-Rouge, Quebec, Canada) recorded a goal and an assist to lead the No. 13 USC Trojans to a 3-1 win Friday against the Arizona Wildcats in a Pac-10 Conference match. Harvey snapped a 1-1 tie in the first half with a penalty kick at 40:03 off an Arizona foul in the penalty box. Freshman Jessica Edwards added her team-leading 10th goal of the season in the second half to round out the scoring.
Edwards needs four shots in Sunday's game at Arizona State, the final regular season match for the Trojans, to set a new school record for shots in the season. Edwards now has 89 shots for the season
USC now improves to 12-5-2 overall and 4-3-1 in the Pac-10 while Arizona falls to 3-14-2 overall, 0-7-1 in the Pac-10.
With a tie or a win Sunday, the Trojans will lock up fifth place in the conference and pass up Washington State, which upset No. 2 Washington earlier today with a 1-0 overtime victory. A win would also solidify the Trojans' chances of garnering a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The pairings for the tournament will be announced Sunday.
