Women's Golf Takes Fourth At Golf World Invitational

All-American Candie Kung shot a season-low 213 to lead the No. 3 USC women's golf team to a fourth place finish at the Golf World Invitational held at Arthur Hills in Hilton Head, SC, this past weekend (Nov. 4-5).

The Women of Troy shot 881 as a team to finish eight strokes behind tourney champion Auburn. Duke took second (878) and Texas took third (879).

Kung, who shot a season-low 67 second round, finished tied for fourth, only two strokes behind individual champion Lorena Ochoa of Arizona. Junior Leila Chartrand also had a strong tournament and shot 215 to place seventh.

Also for USC, sophomore Mikaela Parmlid was tied for 33rd (226), freshman Anna Lee was 35th (227) and senior Nicole Dalkas was 48th (234).

The Women of Troy next travel to Estero, Fla., to compete in the College Golf Foundation National Intercollegiate on Nov. 11-12 (Saturday-Sunday).
