Bruin Women's Hoops Falls To New Mexico, 75-54

Albuquerque, NM - The UCLA women's basketball team lost to host New Mexico in the consolation game of the Women's Sports Foundation Basketball Classic by a score of 75-54 despite junior guard Michelle Greco's career-high 28 points.
Greco led all players in scoring and shot 12-23 from the field. She also had three steals and three rebounds. Junior forward Shalada Allen, battling foul trouble, scored six in 17 minutes of play. Sophomore forward Natalie Jarrett led the Bruins with seven rebounds, and freshman forward Jamila Veasley totaled six boards.
Jordan Adams led the Lobos with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bruins held close with New Mexico in the first half, trailing just 35-29 at halftime, but the Lobos pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Bruins 40-25 and limiting UCLA to 27.3% shooting in the second period.
UCLA's record is now 0-2, and the Bruins will next face Utah in their Pauley Pavilion opener on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7:00 pm.
