TEMPE, Ariz. - Led by junior Melody Johnson's 17 points, Arizona State defeated Cassovia Bardejov of Kosice, Slovakia, 80-73 in women's basketball exhibition action at Wells Fargo Arena Saturday night.

Slovakia was led by a game-high 19-point effort by Zuzana Skuarekova, but three others contributed with double-digit scoring in the loss.
Although it had led by as much as 16 points earlier in the second half - and 10 points with 3:34 remaining - ASU saw its lead slipping away in the final minutes. A minute later, Vaselova managed another three-point play before making the field goal that brought Slovakia to within three, 75-72 with 1:31 left.

ASU also cashed in from the three-point line during the course of the game, knocking down six-of-10 from behind the arc. Seniors Aubrey McFadyen and Natalie Tucker led the way with two apiece.
