Grinda Falls In ITA Regional Final

Los Angeles- Number two-seed UCLA senior Jean-Noel Grinda was defeated in straight sets by cross-town rival and top-seeded Andrew Park of USC, 6-2,6-4 in the final of the ITA Region VIII-South Championships on Sunday.
In doubles action, the No. 2 seeded tandem of Grinda and Jean-Julien Rojer defeated teammates Erfan Djahangiri and Travis Rettenmaier, 9-8 (5). Grinda and Rojer rallied from a four-game deficit to claim the title.
Rettenmaier fell to USC's Nick Rainey of USC, 6-0, 6-1 in the consolation singles final.
The singles and doubles champions secure an automatic berth to the Rolex National Indoor Championships scheduled for next February in Dallas.
The Bruins return to action on January 13-16 to participate in the Sherwood Collegiate Cup.
