Nov. 14, 2000
LOS ANGELES - The Trojan Diving Invitational, featuring local universities USC, UCLA, UC Irvine and Redlands, will run Thursday through Saturday (Nov. 16-18) at the USC McDonald's Swim Stadium on the Trojan campus.
The other schools set to compete are California, Stanford, San Diego, San Diego State, Fresno State, San Jose State, Arizona, Colorado State and BYU.
USC's diving team, under second-year head coach Hongping Li, features 2000 two-time All-American junior Kellie Brennan as well as a pair of talented freshmen in Raymond Vincent and Nicci Fusaro.
Brennan is coming off a sweep of the 1- and 3-meter springboards against Arizona and Arizona State last week in dual-meet competition. She also won the 3-meter at the Stanford Fall Diving Invite earlier this season.
Vincent swept both springboards at the Stanford meet and against Arizona last week. He also won the 3-meter against Arizona State. His second-place finish in the 1-meter against the Sun Devils is his only blemish thus far.
Thursday's session, featuring women's 1-meter and men's 3-meter, and Friday's session, featuring men's 1-meter and women's 3-meter, both begin at 9 a.m. and will run to approximately 3:30 p.m.
Saturday will be the platform competition, beginning at 10 a.m.
