Volleyball Sweeps San Diego, 3-0

Los Angeles, Calif. -- No. 3/5 USC women's volleyball (22-2, 14-2 Pac-10) swept San Diego, 3-0 (15-9, 15-10, 15-9), in a nonconference match-up Tuesday, Nov. 14, in front of 321 at North Gym.
The Trojans took the early lead in each of the three games, but San Diego did make the victories easy. In game one, the Toreros fought back from a 7-0 deficit to come within two points (11-9) before the Trojans captured the win. With its best hitting performance (.354) of the night, San Diego was unable to come closer than three points (9-6) in game two. The two teams alternated points reaching a 5-5 tie in the final game before USC embarked on a 6-0 run that solidified its lead.
The Women of Troy were led by sophomore opposite hitter Lauren Killian who tied a career-best with 12 kills (.556) while contributing four blocks in the match. Junior middle blocker Jennifer Pahl also posted 12 kills (.455) and led with five blocks.
Lindsey Lampert and Noel Frohman led the Toreros with 12 kills apiece, while Lampert led at the net with five blocks.
USC travels to Washington State and Washington this Friday (Nov. 17) and Saturday (Nov. 18) for its final two matches of the conference season.
