Huffman Wrestles To Fourth Place

ASHLAND, Ore. - Oregon State 165-pounder Jake Huffman placed fourth at the Southern Oregon Open wrestling tournament on Saturday. The Beavers sent a number of its wrestlers to the tournament while OSU's starters were competing in the Omaha Open.

'We had some good matches and our wrestlers got a lot of good experience,' OSU assistant coach Jeff Cardwell said of the Southern Oregon Open.

Huffman was the only Beaver to place among the top four in his weight class. OSU 125-pounders Clint Sieminski and Michael Delaney and 141-pounder Casey Horn all tied for fifth place at their weights.

In the Omaha Open, Oregon State crowned champions in 133-pounder Ben Richards, 157-pounder Eric Jorgensen and 184-pounder Isaac Weber, Jorgensen was named the event's Outstanding Wrestler and all 10 OSU wrestlers placed in the top six in their weight class.

Oregon State begins its home schedule on Saturday, when the Beavers will meet Stanford in a Pacific-10 dual meet at 1 p.m. in Gill Coliseum.
