Olsovsky Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC middle blocker Katie Olsovsky has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for November 14 - 19, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Olsovsky, a freshman from Torrance, Calif., helped the Women of Troy clinch their first-ever share of the Pac-10 Championship. She hit .510 with 32 kills (4.57 kpg) and committed only six errors in 51 attempts. Olsovsky also showed her all-around skills by adding eight digs and seven blocks during the week.
Against Washington State, Olsovsky had 20 kills and hit .594 to go along with five digs and four blocks to help lead the Trojans to victory. She then went on to hit .368 with 12 kills and three blocks in a win at Washington.
In the Conference, Olsovsky currently ranks third in hitting percentage and fourth in blocks.
This is the first weekly honor for Olsovsky, USC 's 25th Player of the Week honor all-time.
