Men's Tennis Blanks Hawaii, 7-0

HONOLULU, Hi. - The Stanford University men's tennis team concluded its fall season with a 7-0 win at the University of Hawaii on Friday afternoon. The result will not count in Stanford's team record, but does count in individual records.
The Cardinal won four of the six singles matches in straight sets, including convincing victories by junior K.J. Hippensteel (Roanoke, VA/International Academy) at No. 1 singles and sophomore David Martin (Key Biscayne, FL/Boca Raton Prep) at No. 2 singles. Hippensteel, who is currently ranked fifth in the nation, finished the fall 8-1, while the 74th-ranked Martin improved his record to 7-4.
Stanford does not return to action until Jan. 13-15 when it participates in the Tennis Classic in Thousand Oaks, California. The Cardinal's first dual match is Friday, January 26 at Oregon.
