STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior midfielder Scott Leber will make a special visit to the gostanford.com/ESPN.com chat room this Thursday, November 30 (12:30 p.m., PST) to talk to fans about this Saturday's NCAA quarterfinal match with Southern Methodist and his high-scoring senior campaign. Leber and the third-ranked Cardinal (18-2-1) are looking to advance to the NCAA Final Four for the second time in three seasons with a victory against the Mustangs this Saturday at New Maloney Field.
Leber has had a breakout season as a senior, scoring 30 points in the team's 21 matches. Leber's 30 points are the most scored by a Stanford player in a single-season in the last 18 years. He has 13 goals and four assists, needing just one more goal to tie for the fifth-best goal-scoring season in Stanford history. The First Team All-Pac-10 choice ranks second in the conference in goals, points, points per game (0.65) and shots (50). He scored at least one point in each of the team's first nine matches and in 13 of 21 overall.
Leber's honors in 2000 have included Offensive MVP at the Dartmouth Men's Soccer Classic, Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week (October 31), Cal adidas-Legacy Classic All-Tournament team and a couple of selections to the Soccer America Team of the Week. His highlights this year included the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over then fourth-ranked Indiana on November 4.
