Three Men's Soccer Players Earn Pac-10 All-Academic Recognition

CORVALLIS, Ore. - - Oregon State men's soccer players Matt Olsen and Aaron McHardy were named to the Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic Second Team and Nick Jensen earned honorable mention, as announced Tuesday by Commissioner Tom Hansen. Athletes must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be a starter or significant contributor.
Olsen, a senior from Helena, Mont., also earned Second Team All-Pac-10 for his efforts this season, as he scored four goals and added two assists for a total of 10 points in 18 games. The midfielder also earned Pac-10 Player of the Week in September. This is the first such award for the Environmental Science and Engineering major, as he posted a 3.15 GPA.
McHardy, a midfielder from Vancouver, British Columbia, scored four goals on 32 shots this year. The sophomore has not decided on a major and carries a 3.70 GPA, having played in 18 games, starting 16.
Jensen, a junior midfielder from Corvallis, Ore., appeared in 13 games, starting four. Jensen is majoring in Business.
