Two Bruin Men's Soccer Players Named NSCAA All-American

Dec. 8, 2000

UCLA men's soccer standouts McKinley Tennyson Jr. (Indianapolis, IN) and Shaun Tsakiris (Saratoga, CA) earned second-team NSCAA All-America honors for the first time in their careers.

Tennyson, a senior forward, recorded career-highs in 2000 in goals scored (15), points (34) and game-winning goals (5). He ended his Bruin career ranked No. 9 on UCLA's all-time career points list with 102, 10th on the all-time career goals scored list with 40, second on the career multiple goal games list with eight, and fifth on the career game-winning goals list with 10. In addition to his All-America honors, Tennyson finished fourth in the voting for the Missouri Athletic Club Player of the Year Award and earned first-team All-Pac-10 acclaim.

Tsakiris, a senior midfielder and team co-captain, also entered the UCLA record books in 2000, moving into fifth place on UCLA's all-time career assists list with 31. He had a breakthrough offensive season in 2000, tallying a career-high nine goals, 25 points and four game-winning goals, along with earning first-team all-conference for a second consecutive year.

In addition, Tennyson and Tsakiris were selected to the NSCAA All-Far West first team, while senior defender and team co-captain Ryan Lee (Alta Loma, CA) was selected to the second team.

With the two All-America honors for Tennyson and Tsakiris, UCLA has now produced an NSCAA All-American 17 years in a row.
