Men's Basketball Player of the Week (12/11/00)

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC junior forward David Bluthenthal has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 4-10, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Bluthenthal, from Los Angeles, Calif., averaged 27.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists last week as the Trojans defeated Cal State Northridge and UC Santa Barbara.
Bluthenthal scored 29 points on 11-of-18 (.611) shooting with 11 rebounds and four assists in the victory over Northridge. He posted his second double-double of the week, and fourth of the season, with 25 points on 10-of-17 (.588) shooting and 12 rebounds at Santa Barbara. His basket with 5.4 seconds remaining was the difference in a 75-73 victory. For the week, Bluthenthal shot 21-of-35 (.600) from the field, 7-of-15 (.467) from three-point range.
It is the second weekly award for Bluthenthal, the 21st all-time honor for the Trojans.
