Although the Trojans (8-0) won by double figures, they were challenged formost of the game as the Seasiders (5-1) made 14 3-pointers, with Brian Skinnergetting six en route to 22 points.
But the inside dominance of Scalabrini and Clancy thwarted BYU-Hawaii. TheTrojans scored 26 points in the paint and added another 16 off 21 turnovers bythe Seasiders.
The host Seasiders gave USC a difficult time in the first few minutes,racing to a 17-11 lead.
But the Trojans, with Scalabrine scoring eight straight points, pulled evenat 19 and then put together a 24-8 run that made it 43-31 at the half.
Two 3-pointers each by Skinner and Dean Daley made it 49-43, but Clancyconverted on a pair of three-point plays. and Scalabrine added another 10points to keep BYU-Hawaii at bay.
Kerry Hendrickson's basket closed BYU-Hawaii to 70-64, but the Trojansscored the next eight points to put the game out of reach.
Granville added 15 points for USC, and Daley finished with 10 for theSeasiders.
