Katie Nyseth To Kick Off Live Pac-10 Weekly Chat

PULLMAN, Wash. - Each Wednesday during conference play, a Pac-10 women's basketball player will drop in for a special chat and take questions on the conference race, women's hoops and the college basketball scene.
Washington State senior point guard Katie Nyseth kicks off the series of 2001 chats on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. PT. Nyseth, a native of Cheshire, Ore., paces the Pac-10 in assist-turnover ratio (2.56), ranks second in 3-point field goal percentage (.471), third in assists (5.12 avg.) and fourth in steals (2.50 avg.). The Cougars (4-4) are next in action at the Montana Lady Griz Classic, Dec. 29-30.
Nyseth was named the 2000 Rutgers University Coca-Cola Classic Scholar Athlete on Nov. 24. In addition, she was received All-Tournament Team honors at the Classic, averaging 10 points, five rebounds, 4.5 assists and two steals in two games. A Biological Systems Engineering major, Nyseth carries a 3.86 GPA. She was honored last year as the College of Agriculture and the Biological Systems Engineering Junior of the Year. In addition, she was a 2000 Pacific-10 All-Academic Team selection.
