Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week (1/2/01)

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- ARIZONA guard Reshea Bristol has been named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 18-31, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Bristol, from Omaha, Neb., helped lead Arizona to a 3-1 mark over the past two weeks, including all-tournament acclaim as the Cats earned runner-up honors at the San Juan Shootout. In the wins over Puerto Rico Mayaguez, Nebraska and Kansas and the narrow loss to then-No. 9 Auburn, she averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in 123 total minutes of play.
Bristol notched a season-high 20 points to go with six assists, five rebounds and four steals in the 69-66 loss to Auburn. She recorded 14 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals in just 19 minutes against host Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. In the win over Nebraska, she made 10 of 14 free throws en route to a team-high 19 points and six rebounds. Bristol posted her second double-double of the season in the victory over Kansas, registering 11 points, 10 assists and four rebounds. She scored seven of her 11 points in the second half, leading the Wildcats' come-from-behind win.
Arizona has won three straight, including nine of its last 10 games, and owns a 10-2 record heading into the opening weekend of Pac-10 play.
The Player of the Week honor is the second of Bristol's career and the 21st all-time selection for Arizona.
