Stanford's Tom Nominated for Volleyball Honda Award

Stanford sophomore outside hitter Logan Tom is one of four players nominated for the 2000-2001 Volleyball Honda Award given to the top woman collegiate volleyball player. Tom is joined by fellow nominees Greichaly Cepero, Kara Gormsen and Sherisa Livingston.
The winner for Volleyball after nationwide balloting, will become a nominee for the Honda-Broderick Cup which is awarded annually to the nation's outstanding woman athlete of the year at the Collegiate Woman of the Year Banquet in Salt Lake City during the NACDA convention.
Tom, a two-time first-team All-American, led the Cardinal this season in kills (5.86 kpg), digs (3.20 dpg) and service aces (0.41 sapg) after she returned from the Sydney Summer Olympics, where she helped lead the Americans to a surprising fourth place showing. The Stanford women's volleyball team finished the 2000 season with a 19-12 overall record, 10-8 Pac-10.
The winner will be announced January 10, 2001.
