Football Closes Season No. 4 in Associated Press Poll

Corvallis, Ore. - Fresh of a 41-9 rout of Notre Dame in the 30th annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Classic, the Oregon State University football team climbed to No. 4 in the Associated Press and No. 5 in the ESPN/USA Today final polls of the 2000 season. Either way, it's the highest finish ever for the Beavers in the national rankings.
Oregon State concluded the season with a seven-game winning streak on its way to an 11-1 record, the most wins ever by the program. The Beavers were co-Pac-10 Conference Champions with a 7-1 record.
The Beavers were one of three Pac-10 programs to finish in the top-10. Washington finished No. 3 in both polls, and Oregon was No. 7 in the AP and No. 9 in the ESPN/USA Today.
The 2001 season begins Sept. 1 at Fresno State. The Pac-10 Conference slate for the Beavers begins Sept. 29 at Reser Stadium against the UCLA Bruins. The rest of the conference home schedule includes Oct. 13 vs. Arizona, Oct. 27 vs. California, and Nov. 10 vs. Washington. The Beavers also have a home date Sept. 8 vs. North Texas and will host another game, either Sept. 15 or Sept. 22.
