Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week (1/8/01)

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - STANFORD twins Jarron and Jason Collins have been named the Pacific-10Conference Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week for the week of Jan. 2-7, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
The Collins twins, from North Hollywood, Calif., combined to average 36.0 points and 17.0 rebounds, while shooting 22-for-37 (.595) from the field and 27-for-30 (.900) from the free throw line in a sweep of the Arizona schools.
Senior forward Jarron tallied 16 points (6-7 FG, 4-4 FT) and nine rebounds against Arizona State, while adding 22 points (7-14 FG, 7-9 FT) and nine rebounds at Arizona. Sophomore forward Jason tallied 15 points (4-6 FG, 7-7 FT) and four rebounds at Arizona State, then posted 19 points (5-10 FG, 9-10 FT) and 12 rebounds against Arizona. Stanford is 22-0 when the twins start together.
It is the second weekly award for Jason, the first for Jarron, and the 27th all-time honor for the Cardinal.
