Mike Aguirre Elected Vice-Chairman of the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State's Mike Aguirre, a three-year student-athlete on the football team, was elected as the vice-chairman for the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, announced recently at the NCAA National Convention in Orlando, Florida.

Aguirre, who graduated last May with a degree in history, will become the chairman of the committee in 2002.

Student-athletes representing all Division I conferences elected the Mesa, Arizona native. One representative from each conference will meet three times a year to provide a voice for student-athletes on the national level.
