EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Oregon goes for its 15th straight win against California when the teams meetat McArthur Court on Thursday.
The 20th-ranked Ducks (8-3, 1-0 Pac-10) have dominated the all-time serieswith the Golden Bears (4-8, 0-2), winning the last 14 games and 25 of 35overall. Oregon posted a 75-63 victory over California on Feb. 12, 2000.
Oregon enters the game with wins in its last four games, including a 71-67victory over Oregon State on Friday. Ducks forward Brianne Meharry scored 24points in the win, giving her a total of 35 in two games since returning from asprained ankle.
The Ducks also continue to get solid play from center Angelina Wolvert, wholeads the team in scoring at 13.7 points per game. The 6-foot-3 senior has madenearly 55 percent of her shots, helping Oregon to a conference-leading 48percent shooting as a team.
The Bears, meanwhile, enter the game with losses in four of their last fivegames. California dropped a 58-47 decision to Arizona State on Saturday,blowing a halftime lead for the second straight game.
'We did a lot of good things,' Cal coach Caren Horstmeyer said. 'We'rejust not putting a whole game together. When we do that, I think we'll be verydangerous. We just haven't done that.'
One bright spot for the Bears in their two conference games has been theplay of center Ami Forney, who averaged 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in thelosses. The junior is averaging 10.8 points and a team-high 8.1 rebounds forthe season.
Oregon, which is looking for its third straight Pac-10 title, has won 10 ofits last 11 conference games. The Ducks' last conference loss was a 69-61defeat to Southern California last February.
