Oregon Men's Basketball Falls To California, 78-62

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - Sean Lampley had 23 points and 10 rebounds asCalifornia beat Oregon 78-62 Thursday to snap the Ducks' four-game winningstreak.

Nick Vander Laan added 14 points and seven rebounds for Cal (10-4, 2-1) intheir Pacific-10 Conference home opener. The Bears are 8-0 this season at home.

Oregon (10-2, 1-1) was led by Luke Jackson with 12 points, and leadingscorer Bryan Bracey was held to 10.

The Ducks led by as many as five points several times in the first half. ButCal went on a 13-3 run with four minutes left to take a 38-33 lead into thebreak.

The Bears held the Ducks to just 26 points and 26.5 percent shooting in thesecond half.

Cal took a 46-35 lead on Joe Shipp's layup, and built their advantage to74-53 with 2:33 left in the game.
