Jimmie Haywood Reinstated to the Men's Basketball Team
Jan. 15, 2001
Corvallis, Ore. - Oregon State University men's basketball player Jimmie Haywood has been reinstated to the team, Beaver head coach Ritchie McKay announced Monday. The sophomore missed last week's games at No. 1 Stanford and California while serving a suspension for violating team rules.
The 6'2' guard from Seattle has played in 13 games, starting two. He is averaging 6.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 22.5 minutes.
The return of Haywood gives OSU at least eight available players for this week's home games against Washington State, Thurs., Jan 18 and Washington, Sat., Jan. 20. Senior center Jason Heide is listed as questionable as of Monday with a sprained right ankle, an injury he suffered late in the game at Stanford last Thursday which forced him to miss Saturday's contest at California.
