Bruin Softball Picked First in Pac-10 Coaches Poll

WALNUT CREEK, CA - UCLA and Arizona, which have 13 NCAA Softball titles between them, were picked by Conference coaches to win the Pac-10 Softball Championship in 2001, it was announced today.

Last season, the Bruins finished third in the Pac-10 and advanced to the NCAA Championship game, where they fell to Oklahoma.

The Bruins open their 2001 slate on Wednesday, January 24 with an exhibition contest against Cal State Fullerton at Easton Stadium. UCLA Softball's annual Alumni Game, which had previously been scheduled for Jan. 20, has been moved to Saturday, March 24.
