Men's, Women's Swimming and Diving Host UC Irvine

LOS ANGELES - The USC men's and women's swimming and diving teams, both ranked No. 8 and both 2-1, continue their dual-meet season when they host UC Irvine on Saturday (Jan. 20) at 1 p.m.
For the men's team, the meet will mark the final home meet of the season and the final home competition for seniors like co-captains Nick Smith and Gabe Woodward as well as senior All-Americans Ryosuke Imai, Slawek Richter and Philippe Demers.
Junior Tamas Kerekjarto has been USC's most versatile swimmer on the men's side, posting NCAA consideration times in the 200 free (1:38.65), 200 (1:49.26) and 400 IM (3:51.30) and the 200 fly (1:48.33). He has the fastest times on the team in all of the above events in addition to the 100 fly (49.64).
The meet against the Anteaters is the second to last for the women, who host UCLA on Feb. 10.
The women's team has been paced by sophomore Michala Kwasny, who was posted USC's fastest times in the 400 IM (4:15.02), 200 fly (1:58.53) and 200 breast (2:16.70). Her times in the 400 IM and 200 fly are both NCAA automatics. Sophomore Asa Sandlund has USC's top times in the 500 (4:49.64), 1000 (9:56.28) and 1650 free (16:30.46) and junior Kristin MacGregor has the Trojans' fastest marks in the 100 (51.48) and 200 free (1:50.77), 200 IM (2:00.75) and the 100 breast (1:03.12).
