Men's Tennis Defeats North Carolina State, 5-2 at Ice Volleys Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Oregon men's tennis team rebounded from a loss on Friday, with a 5-2 victory on Saturday over North Carolina State. The match was the consolation game at the Foster Klima Ice Volleys. The Ducks swept the doubles matches and lost only two singles matches on their way to the win.
In singles, the Ducks won four out of six matches. Oregon freshman starters Martin Pawlowski and Buck Mink made their mark on Saturday with big victories. Pawlowski defeated NC State's Valor, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, while teammate Mink put away Mike Carducci in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
'We competed well today,' said Oregon head coach Chris Russell. 'We played hard and made some progress from yesterday's matches. We're just trying to get a little better each day.'
The Ducks record improves to 1-1. Up next, Oregon will host Stanford on Friday, January 26 at 2:30 p.m at the Student Tennis Center in Eugene, Oregon.
