Prosser Finishes Second At Bruin Invitational

Los Angeles, CA- The 2001 Bruin Invitational at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center concluded on Saturday afternoon with the men's three-meter, women's one-meter and the platform event. Leading the way for the Bruins was Heidi Prosser and Anne Baghramian who finished second in the one-meter and platform, respectively.
Friday's three-meter winner, Nicci Fusaro of USC swept all the invitational's events after claiming the one-meter and the platform on Saturday. UCLA's Liz Ackerman put in a solid performance as she finished third in the one-meter with 231.70. Melissa Kull of Connecticult was fourth, followed by UCLA's Kasey Reinhard who placed fifth.
Bruin freshman Michelle Brown joined Baghramian in the platform to finish fourth with a score of 326.90.
USC's Ray Vincent was another double event winner as he claimed the three-meter (488.50) and the platform (505.50). Hawaii's Michael Gowdy was unable to take over Vincent on Saturday after finishing second in both the three-meter and platform event.
UCLA swimming and diving team returns to Pac-10 action on Fri., Jan. 26, and Sat., Jan. 29, when they travel to the bay area to face Stanford and Cal, respectively. Friday's meet at Stanford is set to begin at 1:00 pm, while the meet at Cal will begin at noon.
