USC Men's And Women's Swimming Defeats UC Irvine

LOS ANGELES - The USC men's swim team defeated UC Irvine, 232-59, while the women's swim squad downed the Anteaters, 234-52, at the USC McDonald's Swim Stadium on Saturday (Jan. 20).
Both Trojan squads, each ranked No. 8, improved to 3-1 overall. It was the final home meet of the season for the men's team.
The men's team was led by junior Tamas Kerekjarto, who won the 200 free (1:37.64), the 200 breast (2:04.97) and the 200 IM (1:48.24). Other USC winners include Klete Keller (1000 free), Oliver White (100 back), Jeff Lee (200 fly), Gabe Woodward (50 free), Nick Smith (100 free), Erik Vendt (200 back), Mark Warkentin (500 free) and David Ringe (100 fly).
The women's team was led by sophomore Michala Kwasny, who won the 200 free (1:50.93), the 200 breast (2:17.29) and the 200 IM (2:01.96). Other USC winners include Katie Meyer (100 back and 100 fly), Kristin MacGregor (100 breast and 100 free), Jana Krohn (200 fly and 500 free), Jenny Parmenter (50 free and 200 back) and Asa Sandlund (100 free).
The women's team is back in action next week when it swims at California on Friday (Jan. 26) and at Stanford on Saturday (Jan. 27). The men's team next swims at Stanford on Feb. 2 and at Cal on Feb. 3.
