Washington Falls To Oregon State, 63-56

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Jimmie Haywood scored a career-high 16 points to leadOregon State to a 63-56 victory over Washington Saturday night.

With the score tied at 48-48, Emonte Jernigan hit a 3-pointer to give theBeavers (8-9, 2-3) the lead for good.

The Huskies (8-10, 2-4) missed their next nine shots as Oregon State builtits lead to 56-48 with just over a minute left.

Washington closed the lead to 60-56 with a 3-pointer from Michael Johnson,but the Beavers sealed the victory with three free throws in the final 25seconds.

Jernigan scored 12 points for the Beavers, and Deaundra Tanner added 11points and 10 rebounds. Jason Heide, playing for the first time since spraininghis ankle on Jan. 11, came off the bench to score 10 points for Oregon State.

Greg Clark scored a career-high 13 points to lead Washington and WillPerkins added 12 points.
