Men's Tennis Falls to No. 1 Stanford, 6-1

Eugene, Ore. - The University of Oregon men's tennis team fell to top-ranked Stanford on Friday, 6-1. Sophomore Jason Menke recorded the lone win for the Ducks, a 6-2, 6-4 defeat of Stanford's Scott Lipsky.
In singles play, freshman Buck Mink fell in a close 6-4, 6-2, 7-6 match to No. 14 David Martin of Stanford. And Pawlowski forced a third game out of Stanford's KJ Hippensteel before falling, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
'It was a good effort,' said Oregon head coach Chris Russell. 'Playing at home makes a big difference. If our guys continue to play this hard, we are sure to get better results.'
Oregon will play host to California in their second Pac-10 match of the season on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m at the Student Tennis Center in Eugene, Oregon.
