2001 Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The Pac-10 coaches have selected USC as the preseason favorite to win the Conference. The Trojans garnered six first-place votes. USC made its 20th appearance in the College World Series last season, going 1-2.
Arizona State and Stanford also recieved one first-place vote each. Stanford was chosen last season to win the Conference, with UCLA second. Arizona State, Stanford and UCLA each earned a piece of the Conference title in 2000, marking the first time three teams ever shared the Pac-10 Championship.
Points are awarded in descending order with 8 points for first place, 7 points for second place, and so on. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team.
