BERKELEY - Senior forward Sean Lampley, who led Cal to two wins last weekend with a pair of double-doubles, has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week.
In Cal's 75-71 overtime win at Washington State Thursday, Lampley scored 27 points and added 12 rebounds - both season highs. He scored the Bears first six points in the extra period when Cal took the lead for good.
Then at Washington Saturday afternoon, Lampley finished with 21 points and 11 boards to lead Cal to a 79-64 victory over the Huskies. Coupled with his WSU effort, Lampley posted back-to-back double-doubles for the first time since the first two games of last year.
For the season, Lampley paces the team and ranks second in the Pac-10 with an average of 18.9 ppg. In conference games, he has raised his averaged to 21.0 ppg, reaching the 20-point mark five times in six games.
