WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - CALIFORNIA senior forward Sean Lampley has been named the Pacific-10Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 22-28, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Lampley, from Chicago, Ill., averaged 24.0 points and 11.5 rebounds in a pair of road wins over Washington State and Washington.
He scored 27 points on 10-of-21 (.476) shooting from the field, 7-of-9 (.778) from the free throw line, with 12 rebounds, two assists and a steal in the win at Washington State. In the win at Washington, Lampley tallied another double-double with 21 points on 6-of-13 (.462) shooting, 9-of-12 (.750) from the free throw line, with 11 rebounds and three assists. For the week, he shot 16-of-34 (.471) from the field and 16-of-21 (.762) from the free throw line.
It is the first weekly award for Lampley, the 24th all-time honor for the Bears.
